What is a Transaction?
Infectious Disease Surveillance is a process to regularly monitor and control infections such as influenza, measles, mumps, COVID-19 in children. This follow-up is important to prevent the spread of diseases and ensure early intervention.
How is it done?
At our Infectious Diseases Follow-up Unit in Cigli, Izmir, children’s symptoms of infection are examined in detail. Physical examinations, blood tests, PCR tests and, when necessary, rapid diagnostic kits are used to detect the presence of the disease. Vaccination programs are implemented to prevent the spread of diseases and necessary measures are taken by isolating infected children.
What are the Symptoms?
Symptoms of infectious diseases can be:
- High fever and chills
- Cough, sore throat and runny nose
- Skin rashes and lesions
- Nausea, diarrhea or vomiting
- Weakness and general fatigue
What are the Treatment Methods?
- Antiviral and Antibiotic Therapy: The use of appropriate medicines against the germs causing the infection.
- Vaccination Practices: Timely vaccinations to protect children against infectious diseases.
- Quarantine and isolation: Necessary measures are taken to separate infected children from other children and to prevent spread.
- Supportive Treatment: Fluid supplementation and antipyretics are administered to strengthen the patient’s immunity and alleviate symptoms.
This process reduces the risk of spreading infectious diseases and protects children’s health.
