Cervical diseases include infections, sores or precancerous lesions of the cervix. Early diagnosis of these diseases plays a critical role in improving treatment success.
How is it done?
In our hospital in Çiğli, Izmir, the following methods are applied with advanced diagnostic systems supported by artificial intelligence:
- Pap Smear Test: Cell samples are taken to check for abnormalities.
- HPV Test: Detects the presence of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection.
- Colposcopy: A detailed examination of the cervix is performed.
- If necessary, a biopsy is taken to make a definitive diagnosis.
What are the Symptoms?
Symptoms of cervical diseases may include
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding (outside the menstrual period or after sexual intercourse)
- Bleeding after sexual intercourse
- Change in vaginal discharge
- Pain in the pelvic area
What are the Treatment Methods?
- Medical Treatment: Antibiotics are used for infections.
- Surgical Treatment: Abnormal tissues in the cervix are removed with surgical procedures such as LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure) and conization.
- Follow-up and Monitoring: Regular checks and tests are performed to monitor the course of the disease and intervene early.
