What is a Transaction?
Blood Disease Monitoring is a process that is carried out to regularly examine the components of blood in children and to detect possible blood diseases at an early stage. This follow-up is very important for the timely recognition and treatment of diseases such as anemia, leukemia and hemophilia.
How is it done?
In our Blood Diseases Follow-up Unit in Çiğli, Izmir, children’s blood values are carefully examined. Regular blood tests measure hemoglobin, white blood cell and platelet levels. If necessary, further tests, such as bone marrow biopsy or genetic tests, are performed to determine the source and type of the disease. Individualized treatment plans are then developed.
What are the Symptoms?
Symptoms of blood disorders can be:
- Fatigue, weakness and pale skin (signs of anemia)
- Frequent infections
- Easy bruising or nosebleeds
- Growth and development retardation
- High fever and general malaise
What are the Treatment Methods?
- Drug Treatment: Iron supplements are used for anemia and chemotherapy drugs are used for diseases such as leukemia.
- Blood transfusion Blood transfusions are given when there is a shortage of blood cells.
- Bone Marrow Transplant: In leukemia and other serious blood diseases, it is used to provide the patient with healthy bone marrow cells.
- Supportive Care: Appropriate medication and treatment methods are used to strengthen immunity and alleviate symptoms.
This process is managed with regular follow-up and proper treatment to protect children’s health and prevent the progression of diseases.
